This article is very helpful for after holiday cleaning tips, as we all know it can be a bit overwhelming.

Kennel Cleaning with CLEANpHIRST Microbial Decontaminat

Like disinfecting a cat cage, cleaning a dog run is a relatively simple, everyday task. Do it correctly and you ensure your canine residents a healthier, less stressful stay. But do it incorrectly and you essentially put out a welcome mat for all the germs and bacteria that can make life miserable for the dogs—and for you.

 

 

 

Simple Steps to Ensure your Kennel is Clean:
 

1. Remove you pet from the area being cleaned. ( Our products are stay for four legged friends, but cleanings is best done with your four legged friend out of the away.)
2. Remove all washable pet items ie bowls, toys and bedding. Pet Bowls and toys may be sanitized in a 1:10 mixture of CLEANpHIRST Microbial Decontaminat for 5 mins. Rinse several times to ensure no residue resides. Wash pet bedding in HOT water.
3. Remove any remain solid waste.
4. Mix 1 part CLEANPHIRST Microbial Decontaminat to 4 parts Water into a sprayer of your choice. (We recommend the FogMaster Jr or a Hudson Sprayer)
5. Spray surface with water to remove heavy soil.
6. Saturate every surface with the Microbial Decontaminat mixture. Including but not limited to the flooring, gates and fencing. Allow surfaces to remain wet for 10 minutes.
7. Scrub any soil area with a deck brush.
8. Rinse all surfaces thoroughly with fresh water.

Your kennels is now cleaned and sanitized. Your four legged friends might not notice, but you will.

Preventing Mold In Your Home

Moisture and Mold Prevention Tips

• Clean up spills or leaks immediately.  Mold will start growing within 24 hours if not dried completely.
  
• Clean and repair roof gutters regularly.
  
• Make sure the ground slopes away from the building foundation, so that water does not enter or collect around the foundation.
  
• Keep air conditioning drip pans clean and the drain lines unobstructed and flowing properly.
  
• Keep indoor humidity low.  If possible, keep indoor humidity below 60 percent (ideally between 30 and 50 percent) relative humidity.  Relative humidity can be measured with a moisture or humidity meter, a small, inexpensive ($10-$50) instrument available at many hardware stores.
  
• If you see condensation or moisture collecting on windows, walls or pipes immediately dry the wet surface and reduce the moisture/water source.  Condensation can be a sign of high humidity.
• Vent appliances that produce moisture, such as clothes dryers, stoves, and kerosene heaters to the outside where possible.
  
• Use air conditioners and/or de-humidifiers when needed.
  
• Run the bathroom fan or open the window when showering.  Use exhaust fans or open windows whenever cooking, running the dishwasher or dishwashing, etc.
• Increase ventilation or air movement by opening doors and/or windows, when practical.  Use fans as needed.
  
• Cover cold surfaces, such as cold water pipes, with insulation.
  
• Increase air temperature.
